ToniMay is the love child label of self taught jewellery designer Laura Byrne.

Growing up with an art teacher and silversmith mother, Laura spent her childhood riffling through her mother’s jewellery box, in a tangled mess of beads and sequins.

“For me jewellery making was a natural progression of my love for art. I grew up with an incredibly talented and creative mother. She is like a cat with 9 lives, a teacher, silversmith, dress maker, printmaker and lead lighter. There is nothing my mother can’t make with her hands” said Laura.

Living this sentiment through ToniMay, all designs are meticulously handcrafted and made to order in Paddington, Sydney.

Celebrating the inner Gypsy in every girl, ToniMay incorporates a combination of natural turquoise nuggets, divine gemstones, and creamy exotic leathers to create unique, sexy and eye catching statement pieces.

Many people ask about the origins of the name ToniMay. The name in its simplest form comes from Laura’s grandparents Antonio and Shirley May Filippi.

“They are my biggest love and the kindest people in my life, without whom I wouldn’t be the woman I am. It is one word, because that is how I have always known them to be, inseparable.”
